   Columbines are Colorado's state flower and can be found growing in the mountains. I kept the background loose and washy so that the focus would be on the beautiful flower.

   The reflections and ripples in the water around these giant waterlilies created a puzzle like background.  The deep dark blues of the water set off the pale greens and mauves of the lily pads.

     "Framing the Reds" is a scene from the Denver Botanic Gardens.  The beautiful reds of the flowers in the background are set off by the greens of the surrounding foliage and reflected in the waterlily pond.
