Framing ClassFraming Class:
This workshop will cover framing from how to choose a good frame style for your painting, the measuring and cutting of the mat and foam core, how to score and cut plexi-glass, and how to finish your framed piece with wire and bumpers.
Lorraine will take the class through the process step by step and at the end of the workshop you will have a framed piece or a matted piece if you are not ready to frame it yet.
If you are interested in learning to frame, but don’t feel you have something to frame or mat yet, this workshop can still be for you. You can come and just learn for future use or I can help you cut a standard mat and foam core (ex. 11x14) that you can paint something for or use for a photo.
The first session will cover all the framing need-to-knows: how to choose the right frame, the right frame size, what shows want, etc. If time permits we will begin to cut mats and foam core.
For those that want to buy a frame, you will bring it back for the second session. We will then finish cutting mats and framing the pieces. Participants will leave with knowledge, and a matted or framed piece.

Lorraine as a Teacher
Lorraine taught beginning to advanced watercolor students at Pikes Peak Community College for two and a half years and also taught summer sampler classes on "Plein-Air"(painting on location) watercolor.  Lorraine believes watercolor students learn best when they can see a demonstration, therefore she demonstrates often.  Lorraine teaches her students the watercolor medium along with composition, color mixing, and perspective to achieve a finished art work.
